Violet Flora Orser Jacksonville, New Brunswick Obituary

Molly Orser

Molly (Violet) Orser (Oram) passed away peacefully on May 15, 2022 at the age of 96. Grammy Molly as she was so lovingly referred to by her grandchildren had an incredible life story. Born and raised in Haywards Heath, Sussex in England to Geraldine and Reginald, she also had two sisters Celia and Betty. She grew up in the midst of WW11, we know this because she loved to tell us all of the amazing stories she remembered, which, if you are wondering, were lots! We loved to hear the tales of her childhood and adolescent years as much as she loved to tell them. It's fair to say that we all share a favourite though, where a handsome young Canadian soldier named Evard Orser entered the dance hall she was at, walked up to her and said " you are the woman I'm going to marry" she said she laughed, but guess what! In March of 1945 Evard and Molly were married. From there Molly left behind her family in England and took her journey by boat to Pier 21 in Halifax, where she then boarded the train for New Brunswick. In their humble, beautiful country home in Carlisle they raised 9 children. Carol (Donnie), Donnie, Sharon (Donnie), Janice (Richard), Gail (Colin), Norman (Ruby), Debbie, Sandra (Michael) and Michael (Cherie). Among the many things they enjoyed doing, I think its fair to say that their summer camping trips as a family tops their memories and was something that Molly and Evard had such joy doing with their family. Those 9 children and their spouses went on to give Molly and Evard 48 more people to share their incredible love with. 28 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. All who have enjoyed beyond measure our time with them. We got to eat rhubarb with sugar and swim at the deep hole and climb the tree, eat endless amounts of Grammy Molly's delicious cookies, stick our hands in the candy jar over and over while knowing every second how incredibly loved we were. Now, after 25 years Molly has gone to be with her love again and her daughter Janice, both whom she missed dearly every day. I'm sure she was also met with open arms from the other family members and friends she has lost and missed throughout her years. "What we once loved and deeply enjoyed we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us" - Helen Keller Funeral Service will be held on Thursday May 19, 2022 at 2:00PM from the Carleton Funeral Home Chapel. 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville NB If so desired the family has requested donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Violets memory.
