Matthew “Matt” Kittelson, age 50, of Brookings, SD passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at his parent’s home in Clear Lake, SD. Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Clear Lake, SD. Visitation will be Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Clear Lake, SD. In Lieu of flowers please direct memorials to the charity of your choice. Matthew Jon Kittelson was born July 23, 1971 in Canton, SD to Bruce and Susan (Ward) Kittelson. In 1973, the family moved to Clear Lake, SD where he was raised and attended school. When Matt turned 18, he moved to Advance in Brookings, SD where he spent the last 32 years. While he was able, Matt worked at Hy-Vee and 3-M. Matt passed away at his parent’s home in Clear Lake, SD on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at the age of 50. Matt enjoyed camping with his parents and sitting by the campfire. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings and Twins fan. Matt participated in basketball, softball and bowling in the Special Olympics and one year was named the MVP. He is survived by his parents Bruce and Susan Kittelson, Clear Lake, SD; aunts and uncles: Cheryl (Duane) Lewno, Lana Cameron, Wendy Carr and Craig Kittelson, and many cousins. Matt was preceded in death by his brother Christopher Kittelson and grandparents: Leon and Frances Ward and Norton and Stella Kittelson.
