Jay Michael Langmade, age 58 of Boone, passed away in his sleep on Friday, May 13, 2022. Jay was born on June 28, 1963 in Des Moines, the only child of Jack B. “JB” and Karen (Mustapha) Langmade. He graduated from Boone High School in 1981, where he was on the football, basketball, golf and baseball teams. Jay moved to Florida in 1986, where he started a family and worked as an EMT and Paramedic. Jay and his family moved back to Boone in 1996. Jay was united in marriage with Kris Ann Morris on August 1, 2001 in Boone. Jay currently worked as a Certified Medication Aide at Eastern Star Masonic Home. He cared for each resident he took care of with pride. Jay was a coach for his kids’ sports, such as Little League and basketball. He loved sports! His favorite teams were the St. Louis Cardinals and the Denver Broncos. He also enjoyed hunting morel mushrooms, camping and hunting and fishing with his dad. Jay was quite the jokester, always getting a laugh out of his jokes. Jay was preceded in death by his father, JB. He is survived by his wife, Kris; mother, Karen Langmade of Boone; children, Amanda (Elie) Abichar of Ames, Ericka Sebring of Naples, FL, Karley and Noah Langmade, both of Naples, FL; step-children, Kelsey Rutzen of Ankeny, Bailey (Kurt) Moore of Des Moines and Connor Bargloff of Ankeny; grandchildren, Kaiya, Amelie, Gabriel, Tristan, Alina, Brody and another grandson to arrive next month; along with many other family members and friends. A Golf Outing will be held from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at the Cedar Pointe Golf Course in Boone. A Celebration of Jay's Life will follow from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M.
