CUYAHOGA FALLS - Robert L. Skinner, 73, passed away Friday, May 13, 2022 at his home with his family by his side.
A graduate of Kenmore High School, he went on to enlist with the Air Force from 1968-1972 during the Vietnam War, and served as an aircraft propeller mechanic, achieving the rank of sergeant. Following his service, he was employed by Acme Foods for 30 years. After retirement, in 2003, he began a part-time career with Anthony Funeral Homes as a funeral director's assistant. Bob and his wife enjoyed travelling to collector shows to seek out gas & oil memorabilia that he meticulously displayed in his garage. He had a love for buying and selling items of whatever his current hobby was, including old tin car toys, pedal cars or classic cars. He enjoyed putzing in the yard to ensure his grass was perfect and green, and then rewarded himself for his hard work with Barberton chicken. He especially loved spoiling his grandchildren, nurturing the next generation of princesses in the family.
Bob was preceded in death by parents Charles & Virginia (Wellspring) Skinner; brother Charles (Bud) Skinner; and brother-in-law Nick Bobich. Bob is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Chris (Ulatowski); daughter and son-in-law, Allison and Jonathan Zuhosky and his beloved grandchildren Claire and Sofia; siblings, Dr. James (Karen) Skinner, Cheryl Bobich and sister-in-law Shirley Skinner, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 19, 2022, from 10:30am to 12:00pm at the Anthony Funeral Home, 1990 S. Main St. Akron OH where a funeral service will be held at 12:00pm. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to One of a Kind Pets, 1929 W.
