Kim Nielsen Gaisford, age 65, passed away suddenly on May 12, 2022, due to a blood clot in her lung.  She was born on March 17, 1957, to Odel LeRoy Nielsen and Dolores Dene Chorniak Nielsen.  She was the eldest of the three children.  Kim grew up in Pleasant Grove surrounded by many family and friends and loved telling stories about their adventures. 

Kim married Steven Gaisford and they settled in Lehi and had two children.  Landon and Jenny.  Her kids were her pride and joy and her “reason for living”.  In 2000 Kim and Steve divorced, and it was tough on her and caused her much emotional anguish throughout the rest of her life.

In the 90’s Kim was diagnosed with cervical spasmodic torticollis.  This caused her much pain, and she suffered with it, but always managed to take care of her kids - even though doing so was physically painful to her.

Kim loved to laugh and make others laugh. When you got her laughing hard she would shake her head and slap her legs.  She was easy to make laugh.  She loved movies, her favorite being “The Trouble with Angels” - starring Hayley Mills.  She loved playing video games with her kids.  Anything that she could do with her kids made her happy.

She retired from the Utah State Developmental Center in March where she worked as a switchboard operator.  She made many friends there and loved her job.

Kim is preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Robyn Nielsen.  She is survived by her children Landon Gaisford and Jenny Gaisford; and her brother, Kevin Nielsen.
