Susie Lee (Wehrle) Sowder, 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, in Greenfield, IN. Born January 28, 1936, in Elkview, WV, she was the daughter of Ernest H. and Elsie L. (Casto) Pendleton. Susie lived many years in Ocala, FL and was formerly employed by Kendall and Marion County Schools. She enjoyed bowling, baking, country music, and watching Nascar races and Days of Our Lives. She also loved an occasional trip to the casino. And, of course, spending time with her family and her dogs. Susie is survived by her son, Dean (Cathy) Wehrle of Greenfield, IN. Three step-sons: Bill (Marguerite) Sowder of FL, Wayne (Betty) Sowder of IL and Mike (Rae Nell) Sowder of FL. Four granddaughters: Nicole (Jonathan) Ruiz of Maitland, FL; Alyssa (Corey) Robertson of Lusby, MD; Jessica (Erik) Jackson of Indianapolis, IN and Leah Wehrle of Greenfield, IN. Six great grandchildren: Kenneth Jackson, Emilia Jackson, Scarlett Zell, Charlee Robertson, Callen Robertson and Mia Ruiz. Sister: Annis Walker of St Albans,WV. And, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Susie was predeceased by her husbands, Robert Allen Wehrle in 1981 and Theodore William (Ted) Sowder in 2013, siblings Alice Hadley and Ernie Pendleton and nephew Joey Pendleton. A service will be held in Ocala, FL at a later date.
