Christopher Thaddeus Majcherowicz Obituary

Christopher Thaddeus Majcherowicz, age 92, of Toledo, OH passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 15, 2022 with his loving wife at his side. He was born January 3, 1930 in Konin, Poland to Thaddeus and Casimira (Galas) Majcherowicz. He met the love of his life Josephine Smaciarz in Toledo. They were married November 20, 1954 and together they had two daughters. They celebrated 67 wonderful years of marriage this past fall. Christopher served in the US Army from 1951-1953 and was a member of the Polish War Veterans Post 74. A Tool & Die maker and proud member of the UAW, he was employed at Meyer Tool & Die for 10 years, and at Hydromatic for 24 ½ years, retiring in 1992.

Christopher and Josephine were inseparable. They loved traveling together, including two memorable trips to Hawaii. Christopher enjoyed dancing waltzes and tangos with his wife. He enjoyed listening to classical music, and caring for red cannas and roses in his garden. He took pride in being on time for events and had a fascination with numbers and statistics about the world. He was interested in local and world events and was extremely knowledgeable about WWII. He loved dogs, hummingbirds, and watching figure skating competitions. He cherished spending time with his family and friends, hosting gatherings in his home where he served meals, beer (piwo), and his collection of Vodkas. He was kind, compassionate, and extremely generous to his family. Christopher appreciated living in the United States and never took for granted his life here. He was a longtime member of St. Adalbert Catholic Church.

Christopher is survived by his beloved wife, Josephine (Smaciarz) Majcherowicz; daughters, Christine (Gary) Krasniewski and Irene (Bruce) Douglas; grandchildren, Gregory (Alyson) Krasniewski, Angela Douglas, Brian Krasniewski, Christopher (Stephanie) Douglas, Lauren (David) Rudy, and Austin (Meghan Morabith) Douglas; and great-grandchildren, Adelyn, Benjamin, and Ella Krasniewski, Connor and Josephine Douglas, and Hannah Rudy. He was preceded in death by his parents; great-grandson, Nathan Rudy; and a special aunt and uncle, Helen and Casimir Skarbek.

Visitation will be Friday, May 20 from 9-10:30 a.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. with a rosary at 10 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. in Sts. Adalbert & Hedwig Catholic Church. Interment with Military Honors led by the VFW 606 Burial Corps will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

The family would like to extend special thanks to his doctors, nurses, and caregivers. We are grateful for the love and compassion and wonderful care he received from Southern Care Hospice – Toledo, especially Peggy and Charmine. Memorial donations may be given to Sts. Adalbert & Hedwig Catholic Church. Condolences may be shared at www.sujkowski.com.
