Delores Vetter Obituary

Delores Vetter, 83, Minot, ND, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the Benedictine Living Center in Garrison. Delores was born on October 11, 1938, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Reiter) Koble in McHenry County, ND. She was raised in Drake, ND, and educated in Guthrie, ND. On October 27, 1958, Delores married Richard Vetter at St. Margaret Mary Church in Drake. Shortly afterwards, the young couple moved to Minot. Delores operated a daycare from her home while her children were young. On April 12, 1978, Delores began working for Ward County Social Services. She would retire from there on September 30, 2002. After retirement, Delores volunteered at the Knights of Columbus. She absolutely loved the social aspect of being at the club and enjoyed meeting new people, family, and friends. Delores was the best wife, mom, and grandma. She loved her family! Her grandkids and great-grandkids would always put the biggest smile on her face. Delores loved attending all their activities and just spending time with them. Delores was a woman of deep faith. In addition to her volunteer work at the Knights of Columbus, she was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Minot, the KCettes, St. Cecilia’s Guild and the church Altar Society. In her spare time, she also enjoyed cross stitch. Delores is survived by her son, Gary (Carol) Vetter, Yankton, SD; daughters, Deanna (Tim) Haider, Burlington, ND, Cindy (Bryon) Schoenberg, Minot, and Sheila (Ralph) Shaffar, Youngtown, AZ; sister, Irene Pfeifer, Devils Lake, ND; grandchildren, Austin and Claire Vetter, Jessica (Stephen) Henderson, Alex (Megan) Haider, Megan Schoenberg, Aaron (Jaclyn) Olson, and Ashleigh (Ryan) Whitt; great-grandchildren, Nathan and Jaelyn Henderson, Cambelle and Lincoln Olson, Joelle and Zoey Whitt, and Colt Haider; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Elizabeth Becker, Wendelin Koble, George Koble, Edward Koble, and infant sister, Angeline Koble; brothers-in-law, Joe Becker and August Pfeifer; and nephews, Douglas Koble and Gail Koble. Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, May 19, 2022, at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Minot. Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND. Visitation: Wednesday, May 18, 2022, from 5 to 6 pm at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Minot. Vigil Prayer Service/Rosary: Wednesday at 6:00 pm, all at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Minot. Memorials: are preferred to Our Lady of Grace food pantry or the Alzheimer’s Association.
