SERVICE INFORMATION:

Terri Lea (Shadel) Schoen, 66, of Shenandoah, Iowa, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at her home.  Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022, at 11:00 am at Nishna Valley Funeral and Cremation Service in Shenandoah.  Visitation with family will take place from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday, May 23, 2022, at the funeral home prior to the service.   Memorials in Terri's name are being directed to the family.

OBITUARY:

Terri Lea (Shadel) Schoen, daughter of Jackson William and Mary Ann (Lewis) Waltz, was born on November 21, 1955, in Omaha, Nebraska.  She entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at her home in Shenandoah, Iowa, following a lengthy battle with colon cancer at the age of 66 years, 5 months, 23 days.

Her early life was spent growing up on the family farm near Riverton, Iowa.  Terri attended the Farragut Community Schools, graduating from Farragut High School with the Class of 1973.

Following high school, Terri moved to California where she became a homemaker, raising her two children, Heather and Chase.  She was involved with PTO and took great pride in being active with both kids’ school activities through the years.  Terri later moved back to Iowa to be close to her mother, Mary Ann.

In her spare time, Terri loved to do crossword puzzles, read and spend time in the outdoors. Taking walks on the beach were always a highlight.  She also enjoyed her trips to the casino.  Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Preceding Terri in death were her grandparents, Dawson and Mabel Lewis; parents Jack and Mary Ann Waltz; brother, James Shadel; aunts, Emily Bengtson and Elsie Campbell; and uncle, George Lewis.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Heather Marie Schoen of Shenandoah, IA, and her four children, Mariscella Rahn and husband Jon of Allen, NE, Christopher Smith of Wichita, KS, Zachary Foster and Treyten Foster, both of Shenandoah, IA;  son, Chase Schoen and wife Brianna of Newbury Park, CA, and his four children, Josiah, Lucas, Madeline and Kenna Schoen; great granddaughter, Ryleigh Marie Rahn of Allen, NE; brother, Fred Shadel and wife Linda of Washington; sister, Ann Jensen of Council Bluffs, IA; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles; other relatives; and many friends.
