Stites of Monroe, LA will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Griffin Funeral Home.<br><br>Jewell Loyce Stites “Nana” of Monroe, 84, wife of Franklin D. Stites, passed away peacefully in her home Sunday, May 15th, 2022. <br><br>Jewell is preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Zola Wade, son David Stites, and brother Bobby Jo Wade. <br><br>Jewell is survived by her husband of 67 years, Franklin D. Stites, children Kim Stites Allen, Jeffery (Rhonda) Stites, and John (Jennifer) Stites, grandchildren Brandon Allen, Amber Allen, Ashley Stites, Kayla (Grant) Fitzhugh, Natalie Stites, Chance Stites, and her four great-grandchildren Baylor, Noah, Sydney, and Elliana. Jewell was also survived by her siblings Joyce Coffman, Charlotte (Bob) Rye, Sharon (Ronnie) Thomas, and sister-in-law Mary Jo Wade. <br><br>Jewell was born in Brinkley Arkansas in 1937 to the late Cecil and Zola Wade. Jewell met and married her husband Frank at the age of 17 and built a wonderful life together over the next 67 years. Jewell had a passion for Jesus and people. She was not afraid to speak her mind and add a little sass! Jewell spent a generous portion of her life caring for children in her home. Everyone loved Mrs. Jewell! She then went into sales at Service Merchandise and learned a love of jewelry. She could spot a perfect diamond anywhere. Jewell loved God and her family BIG, all the way to her last breath. Jewell’s legacy will live on through all the wonderful lessons she taught her family. From her love of cooking and gardening, to reading and singing, her gifts will be cherished. Jewell loved to meet her friends at the Olive Garden for laughs and celebrations, those memories will be held dearly. Jewell’s family knows she is rejoicing with Jesus but will forever have a hole left in their hearts.<br><br>Jewell was a lady who always knew what she wanted, and her family will honor those wishes. Services will be held at Griffin Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 17th at 5:00 pm for immediate family only.
