Obituary

On Saturday, May 14, 2022, Arnaldo Milian, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, was called to his heavenly father at the age of 63 after battling cancer for some time. He was born and raised in Havana, Cuba to Arnaldo Milian and Thelma Wrves, on January 29, 1959.

Arnaldo met his beautiful wife in Havana in 1982 and were married in 1983. They started their family in 1988 with the birth of their first son, Randy and then expanded the family with the birth of their second son, Dany. They moved to the US in 1992 and made home in the Houston area.  It did not take long for Arnaldo to find a calling driving for major food suppliers in the state.  When he was not behind the wheel of the rig, his time was spent with his family and friends.  He was known to show his love through his cooking and was happy any time he could do for others. His black beans are the stuff of legend. He loved telling stories about his time in the Cuban military, predominately about his and his platoon’s pranks on each other and on their superiors. It was not uncommon to see him around a table with his sons and their friends at 2 AM rolling in laughter.

Arnaldo loved to fish, read, go to the beach, camping, driving, storytelling and going on adventures. Most of all, however, he loved bringing people together. He loved and trusted altruistically. He was a second father to many of his sons’ friends and he helped raised many good boys into great men. His proudest moments were marrying his beautiful wife Marta; having two great sons, Randy and Dany; emigrating to a new country and achieving the American Dream for his family; watching his son Randy graduate with an MBA; seeing his son Dany marry his wife, Jesse; seeing his son Randy marry his wife, Chelsi; driving several million miles without accident in his career; and meeting his grandson Arlo. He lived a full life and everyone that met him was better for it.

Left to cherish his memories is his wife of thirty-eight years Marta Iribar, sons Randy (Chelsi) Milian of Houston, and Dany (Jesse) Milian of Kansas City; brothers and sisters Vincent (Stephanie) Milian, Thelma Milian, Griselia (Jorge Ruiz) Milian, Gustavo (Indira) Milian; nephews Guido Jorge, Christopher Milian, Alexander Milian and Ethienne (Sue) Drowne, Marcos Milian, Jorge Ruiz Jr.; and grandson Arlo Ridley Milian and great niece Vida Jorge. He was preceded in death by his parents Arnaldo Milian and Thelma Wrves.

He is gone but never forgotten, leaving his loving memories in our hearts forever.
