"In the early evening of May 13th, 2022, Stanley Reynish passed away peacefully at Health Science North in Sudbury. It has been one year since his passing. Stanley is greatly missed by his Wife, Children, Great Grandchildren and all who knew him.

As the family of Stanley Reynish we would like to thank various people who assisted him before his passing, this includes Medicine and Rehabilitation Program Staff, the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of the 4th Floor Palliative Care, The Community Paramedicine staff, specifically the paramedic Trevor, The Atikameksheng Anishnawbek Diner's club, The Community of Atikameksheng Anishnawbek, The PSWs of Atikameksheng Anishnawbek, and the Diabetes Health Nurse Jody Anderson. We would like to extend a thank you to family, friends and all who came to Stanley's initial visitation last year, and all who expressed their condolences.

Stanley Edward Reynish passed away peacefully at Health Sciences North on May 13th, 2022, at the age of 86. Beloved Son of Edward Reynish and Mavis (nee Grewcock), both predeceased. Beloved brother to 12 siblings; Sidney Reynish (Predeceased), Edna May Franklin, Ethel Mavis Mckinnon (predeceased), Leslie William Reynish (predeceased), Phyllis Edith Armstrong (predeceased), Mildred Rose Naish, Gladys Ruth Ferguson (predeceased), Daniel Victor Reynish (predeceased), James Arthur Reynish (predeceased), Wilfred Charles Reynish, and Edward John Reynish. Loving Husband to Rita “Annette” (nee Petahtegoose) for 63 years. Caring Father to Karen Nebonaionoquit, Darrell Reynish (Lorna), Cheryl Thurston (Mark), Mark Reynish (Gina), and Laura "Lynn" Reynish. Poppa to Dwayne Nebonaionoquit, Kevin Reynish, Samantha Nootchtai (Kyle), Jessica Reynish (Matt), Stephen Thurston, David Thurston, Stanley Maskell and Gillian Maskell. Great Grandfather to Kachena Reynish, Benjamin Young, and Kallie Latendre.


Stanley grew up on a farm in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. As a young man Stanley served with the Canadian Army. Stanley eventually made his way to Sudbury Ontario where he met his dear wife Annette on a blind date at her house, the married August 14th of 1958. Stanley worked for INCO for over 30 years as production miner, in addition he was a volunteer firefighter in Whitefish, Ontario for several years. Stanley was a champion bowler and avid horseshoe player. Stanley was a sports fan, he enjoyed watching hockey, football, and wrestling, specifically the Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leafs. Stanley loved going to the casino and scratching instant scratch tickets.


Stanley was a proud family man, who was always willing to help someone in need. Stanley will be remembered for his big heart, and the fact that he always knew how to give someone a good laugh or bring a smile to someone's face.

The visitation for Stanley will be held at Atikameksheng Anishnawbek Community Centre on Monday May 16th, 2022, from 1 to 9pm.

The following day all are invited to gather at 11am for one last farewell, with a feast to follow at 12pm.

Donations can be made to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Kidney Foundation.
