<p style="text-align: justify;">Richard &ldquo;Butch&rdquo; L. Adolphsen, age 74 of rural Glenwood, died Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood. A memorial service celebrating Richard&#39;s life will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Villard United Methodist Church in Villard. Visitation will be Sunday, May 22nd from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Glenwood. Visitation will also continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Inurnment will be in the Lake Amelia Cemetery in rural Villard. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.&nbsp;</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Richard Leon Adolphsen son of John and Florence (Eldridge) Adolphsen was born on August 24, 1947 in Glenwood, Minnesota. His parents had 4 children and he was the baby. Richard grew up on the family farm in Villard and attended Villard School graduating in 1966. He entered the National Guard in 1968 and was discharged in 1974. Richard was employed for the Pope County Highway Department for 34 years.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">On July 20, 1968, Richard was united in marriage to Mary Pingree in Glenwood and they were blessed with 4 children. They made their home on the family farm. He was a member &amp; past president of the men&rsquo;s club and was a member of the Villard American Legion. Richard had many hobbies some which included: gardening, deer hunting, being outdoors, visiting casinos, traveling, spending time with loved&nbsp;ones and picking &ldquo;teasing&rdquo; people.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Richard is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Adolphsen of rural Glenwood, his children: Lisa (Lynn) Peterson of Glenwood, Bryan (Becca Gill) Adolphsen of Alexandria, Sally (John) Scott, and Elaine (Justin) Deisz both of Glenwood: 10 grandkids: Aaron (Morgan Yetter) Peterson, Kassidi (Dalton) Ehresmann, Hunter (Nathan) Bangsund, Tyler Matzke, Amber (Brandon Dolman) Matzke, Brendon (Samantha) Scott, Travis (Brittany Welling) Scott,&nbsp;Matthew Adolphsen, Makayla Gill, and Zachary Adolphsen; 4 great grandkids: Ryker Bangsund, Westin Ehresemann, Sawyer Scott &amp; Wyatt Bangsund, with a great granddaughter expected in early June. Richard is also survived by his sister, Geraldine Nowling of Sauk Centre and many nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Richard was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Vivian Sondrol &amp; Sandra Qual; brothers-in-law, Luverne Sondrol, Harold Nowling, Sherman Qual, and Ed Miller; sister-in-law, Diane Pingree; father and mother-in-law, Ralph &amp; Doris Pingree; nephew, Dale Miller; and a niece, Terri Qual.</p>
