Eliza Thorne (nee Vanduzen)

Passed away in her home on Thursday, May 12, 2022, she was in her 98th year.  Beloved wife of the late Roy Thorne who predeceased her in 1959.  Cherished mother of Clara Mather (Tom), Robert Thorne (Sandy), Larry Thorne and predeceased by her infant son Wilfred.  Proud grandmother of Sherry Allard (Mike), Eliza Mather, Roy Mather (Monique), Bobby Thorne (Corine), Jason Thorne (Natasha), Michael Thorne and 14 great-grandchildren. Eliza is predeceased by her parents James & May Vanduzen and her 7 brothers and 2 sisters.  She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family.    Family will receive friends at the Opatovsky Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.  A graveside service will follow at Chetwynd Cemetery.  If desired, donations to Sunnybrook Hospital would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
