Obituary

Jermaine LaVour Coleman was born September 26th, 1977 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Jan Abdul Rahim and Jerome Coleman.

Jermaine Coleman was a beloved man. He was talented, caring, and always deeply concerned about others. His sensitivity to other people made him a very thoughtful and caring person. As a child, Jermaine was loved by all who met him. He was shy but curious, and often tinkering and exploring. As a man, he was loyal to those he opened up to and trusted. He was a connecting force in the family; he worked hard to stay connected with his family and friends and was great at maintaining long-term relationships with people.

Jermaine loved to laugh and share stories. To his family and close friends, he was truly a warm and happy spirit. While taking care of his grandmother, he used his sense of humor and wit to make her laugh and give her comfort. He connected to music, specifically rappers that spoke about real issues. He didn’t place much value on material things and flashy items. He was always more interested in people, with connection, and with what he loved most…family. Jermaine was an exceptionally talented “lefty” artist. He was a skilled illustrator, a gifted barber, and had the most beautiful penmanship.

Jermaine leaves to cherish his memories; his wife Alicia Coleman; his children LeAynie, Jermaine, Javion, Ty, Shailen, Caprys; his parents Jan and Jerome; his brothers, Jerome and Jeremy Coleman and Tyrone and Isaiah Murphy, along with a host of loving cousins, aunts, and uncles, friends and extended family.

Jermaine LeVour Coleman departed this earthly life on Tuesday, May 10th, 2022 at the age of 44 years, 7 months, and 14 days. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Coleman, and his maternal grandmother Emma Ruth Johnson.
