Doris A. Guffey
<p>Doris A. Guffey, 75, of 633 Market St., Mifflinburg, entered into rest at 4:45 a.m., Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.</p> <p>She was born December 5, 1946, in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late William and Thelma (Dunkle) Aikey. On May 6, 1966, in Mifflinburg, she married George M. Guffey, who survives.</p> <p>Doris was a 1964 graduate of Lewisburg High School.</p> <p>She was first employed as a secretary at Bussert’s Supply in Lewisburg and is most remembered as the Borough of Mifflinburg secretary for many, many years.</p> <p>Doris enjoyed crocheting blankets, camping, and playing poker and pinochle with her friends over the years. In her early years, she was a member of the Mifflinburg Hose Company’s Ladies Auxiliary. She was a proud grandmother and enjoyed spending time on the porch with neighbors. </p> <p>Surviving in addition to her husband of 56 years, are one daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Chris Bailey of Lewisburg; and one granddaughter, Emma; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Donna and Dennis Goss and of Middleburg, and Sharron Aikey of Mifflinburg; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Diane Aikey of Florida, and John and Marsha Aikey of Mifflinburg.</p> <p>Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.</p> <p>Burial will be in the Lewisburg Cemetery.</p> <p>Memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105-3678.</p> <p>Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.</p> <p>Leave your condolences online at www.rouppfuneralhome.com.</p> <p><br /> </p>Obituary
