He was a devoted father, who enjoyed roping, riding horses and watching his son team rope. And he loved his Zydeco music.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;">He attended Weimar Public School, until he moved to Houston, Texas where he continued his education at Dowling Middle School and Jack Yates High School, graduating in the Class of 1984. Jessie accepted Christ and joined Greater Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Jarvis W. Nelson, until his health failed.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;">Jessie departed this life on May 13, 2022, he was preceded in death by his parents, his uncles and aunts, a nephew and cousins.</span></span></p> <p><font face="verdana, geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: 12px;">​He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Karen Rhodes Johnson; one son, JaCobi Johnson-Rhodes; one daughter, Jennifer Riley; one stepdaughter, Chardae Rhodes; one sister, Lillie Ann Johnson; two brothers, Frank Johnson (Dorothy) and Louis Ray Johnson (Florida) both of&nbsp;Houston, TX and two grandsons, Ja&#39;veon and Ja&#39;ceon Allen. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.</span></font></p> <p><font face="verdana, geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: 12px;">&nbsp;HE SHALL REST AT: GOOD HOPE MEMORIAL CEMETERY&nbsp; WEIMAR,&nbsp;TEXAS</span></font></p>
