Dolores G. Tellez passed peacefully into God’s loving embrace at age 95 on May 10, 2022, while surrounded by family in Tolleson, Arizona. 

Dolores was born on April 2, 1927 to Manuel Gomez and Guadalupe Vega in Clifton, Arizona. She attended Clifton High School and graduated in 1947. On November 12, 1949 she married Florencio “Chito” O. Tellez Jr.. Together they welcomed six children into the world; Carmel (Melisa) Tellez, Dolores (William) Nabor, Rebecca (Richard) Hewes, Diana (Pat) Roybal, Martha (Carlos) Ontiveros, and Tony (Lydia) Tellez.

They were members of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and were on the Sacred Heart Cemetery Committee. It was at this church that she was baptized, married, and renewed her vows. 

Dolores loved going to the casino, playing games with grandchildren, and sharing sweet treats with her family. She was a strong woman who taught her children the importance of family, resilience, and hard work. These values have been passed on through generations. 

Dolores is survived by her brothers, Jimmy Gomez and Johnny Gomez, and her loving children. She is also survived by her 22 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Florencio “Chito” Tellez, grandson Michael Tellez, great granddaughter Kaya Tellez, daughter-in-law Priscilla Tellez, sister Carmen Segovia, sister Josephine Aguilar, and brother David Gomez. 

Services will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church on May 21, 2022. The viewing will be held at 8AM, the rosary will be held at 9AM, and mass will be held at 10AM. Interment will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery following the services.
