Audrey Smith Obituary

Audrey Smith passed away peacefully at the Port Perry Villa on Tuesday, May 10th, 2022 at the age of 94. Beloved wife of late Norman Smith. Loving mother to Bruce (late Janice) and Karen. Devoted grandmother to Jessica (Jon), Lindsay (Trevor), Brittany, Jamie, Jason, Kassia (Wade), Mikaela (Heather), and Great-Grandmother to Phoenix, Rylee, Sofia, Jameson, Connor, Brayden, Bennett, and another little great-granddaughter on the way. Audrey will be fondly remembered by Mary-Lou, Heather, Jane, and many other family and friends.

Audrey supported Norman during his professional golf career, and subsequently they travelled to various places in Canada and across the United States while with the PGA/CPGA. The family even lived in Barbados for a short period of time where Karen and Bruce attended school. Their childhood is filled with many fond memories and family adventures, including fishing trips to Memquisit Lodge in the French River area, and time spent cottaging on Lake Simcoe.

Audrey and Norman also spent many winters together with family and friends in New Smyrna, Florida enjoying the pool, beach, and hosting cocktail parties.

Audrey will primarily be remembered for her sharp wit, sense of humour, and her unwavering love and dedication to her family and friends.

In memory of Audrey’s kind and bold spirit today, hug someone you love.

An interment will be held at a future date.

“May the road rise to meet you,

May the wind always be at your back,

May the sun shine warm upon your face,

And rains fall soft upon your fields,

And until we meet again,

May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.”
