Daniel Adams, Jr., (affectionately known as “Dan” or “Dandy Dan”) was born on, Thursday, March 16, 1939, to the late Daniel Adams, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Craig Adams. He transitioned from labor to reward on Friday, May 13, 2022. Dan was a graduate of Dillard High School and went to Hampton Institute to study architectural engineering before he joined the US Army. After service in the Army, he returned to his hometown and made a lasting impact on family, friends, and his community. While working for General Electric he followed in his father’s footsteps and started several new businesses and became well known as “Dandy Dan, the Record Man”. Dan worked tirelessly to provide for his family and maintained a visionary mindset which led him to start Tra-Tex Industries, an incent company that sold its products across the United States. Dan followed his ambitious spirit and pursued what he knew best, Stucco Contracting. For over 45 years, Dan was one of the main stucco contractors from middle North Carolina to the coast and he did not have to advertise as 100% of his business came to him from some of the highest profile people in the state. In June 2010, Dan married Audrey Robison at Bell-Yeager Free Will Baptist Church. Dan’s love and devotion to God grew and he joined the choir and was very active in the church. He joined Bell-Yeager Free Will Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Bishop David H. Bell. Under the leadership of Elder Kent L. McMillian, he continued his Christian journey as a faithful and dedicated member of the Male Chorus. Dan is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Audrey: 6 adult children, 2 brothers, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Dan was preceded in death by 2, a son and daughter. To everything there is a season, and a Time to every purpose under the heaven……..
