Christopher Mountjoy Stumpf , age 53, died May 10, 2022 following complications from an outpatient surgery. Chris was born May 22, 1968 to George and Ellen (Duane) Stumpf. He spent his childhood riding bikes, playing with friends and enjoying life in the tight-knit community of Hillsborough, New Jersey. After graduating high school, Chris explored his passion for adventure before meeting his wife, Amber, in the foothills of Clemson, South Carolina. They spent their early years cheering on the Clemson Tigers and boating around Lake Keowee before getting married on September 25, 1999. Since that day he never once stopped supporting, encouraging and loving her. After their first child was born in 2002, Chris became a devoted stay at home dad. He could often be found riding around town in one of the many Jeeps he owned over the years. He was usually on his way to the Fauquier County Roller Hockey League rink, the Haymarket IcePlex, Athey Fields, various other hockey/soccer/lacrosse fields or the dance studio to watch his baby girl. He was a constant and unwavering presence in his children’s lives. Chris was also a loyal friend to so many. He loved having breakfast with the guys, fires in the driveway, pool parties in the summer and playing endless games of corn hole, darts or the card game Rook. He always brought the fun, laughter, and mischief everywhere he went. His 'sandals' will be impossible to fill. Chris is survived by his wife of nearly 23 years, Amber, and their four children; Brandon (19), Zach (17), Austin (14) and Lily (8). He is also survived by countless other family members and friends who grieve alongside his wife and children. The family will receive friends on Monday , May 16 from 4-6 PM at Moser Funeral Home followed by a more intimate funeral service.
