Clintonville / Madison - Aubrey D. Johnson, age 37, of Madison, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at UW Hospital and Clinics. She was born on Aug. 5, 1984, in Shawano, Wis., the daughter of Edward and Rebecca (Hommer) Johnson.


Aubrey graduated with honors from Clintonville High School in 2002.  She then attended UW-La Crosse, earning her bachelor’s degree of Communications in 2006 and received her master’s degree of Clinical Social Work from the UW-Madison in 2015.  Aubrey was employed with Journey Mental Health as a Clinical Team Supervisor.


Aubrey had a variety of interests including, snow and water skiing, and swimming.  She was an avid reader. Aubrey also enjoyed music, learning the violin at the age of four and playing the saxophone and clarinet from middle school through high school. She loved to travel with family and friends, having taken over 25 trips with her family and several with friends.  She was a lifetime member of the Moose Fraternity.  Aubrey will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and as a true humanitarian of a human being.


In addition to her parents, Ed and Becky, survivors includer her sister, Amber (Charles) Reimer and their son Charlie; her fiancé, Sterling Lynk and his children, Sela and Soren; her paternal grandparents, Fred and Delora Johnson; her aunts, Joy Benson and her daughter Rachel Pishion (and her children, Samantha and Nickolas Peterson), and Cindy Rodriguez and her daughters, Miranda and Emily; her uncles, Dan (Karen) Johnson and their daughter, Jadelyn,  and Neil Homme;, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparent, Marcella Hommer.


A Memorial Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 346 W. Pine St., Lake Mills, Wis., at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022, with Pastor Mark Dressel and Pastor Nick Upthall presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.


Later sometime in August, Aubrey’s birthday month, there will be a Celebration of Life Program up in the Clintonville, Wis. area.


Memorials, including in lieu of flowers may be made to “Madison Journey Mental Health,” “The Madison Rape Crisis Center,” or “Moose Charities - The Wisconsin Home.” Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
