Robert L. DiPaolo, 81, of Spring Twp., passed away Friday, May 13, 2022, in the care of Rittenhouse Village at Muhlenberg. Married to Lucia V. (Memmo) DiPaolo, Bob was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.<br><br>Born in Reading to the late William and Filomena (Savini) DiPaolo, Robert graduated from Reading High School in 1958. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in 1964 and his Master’s of Education in 1968 from Kutztown State Teacher’s College, now Kutztown University. <br><br>Robert’s first teaching post was with the West Reading School District where he taught for four years before accepting a position as a social studies teacher at the Wyomissing Junior High School. He enjoyed 29 years at Wyomissing before his retirement in 1996.<br><br>Passionate about baseball, Robert served as an umpire for 20 years with the Pennsylvania Inner Scholastic Athletic Association and the Berks County Umpire Association. He also enjoyed golf and travel.<br><br>Robert was a member of St. Ignatius of Loyola Roman Catholic Church.<br><br>Left to treasure Robert’s memory is his wife, Lucia; their daughter, AnnMarie D. Stauffer (Mark) of Reinholds; and grandchildren: Julia K. Stauffer of Pawley’s Island, SC; Emily M. Stauffer of Reinholds; and Jared W. Stauffer of Reinholds.<br><br>Bob was predeceased by his son, Michael R. DiPaolo.<br><br>In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bob’s memory may be offered to Skills of Central Pennsylvania, 341 Science Park Rd, Suite 6, State College, PA 16803.<br><br>A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Resurrection in Gethsemane Mausoleum, 3139 Kutztown Rd, Reading, PA 19605, where entombment will follow. <br><br>Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, is honored to care for the DiPaolo family.
