Sarah Jewel Secondine Obituary

Sarah Jewel Secondine, 88, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2022, at her home in Claremore, OK. She was born on September 2, 1933, in Nowata, Oklahoma to James Truman and Virginia Eliza (Dunn) Smith.

On November 5, 1950, Sarah married the love of her life, Donald Henry Secondine Sr. in Camp Polk, Louisiana. Sarah excelled working as a licensed practical nurse for numerous Tulsa area hospitals and facilities. She was dedicated to her work and committed to her patients, caring for those in need until her retirement.

Sarah was the perfect example of a good Christian woman. She enjoyed gardening and loved taking care of her flowers and plants. One of her favorite things to do in her spare time was to decorate cakes for her family and friends. Whether it was a birthday party or a wedding, she knew exactly how to decorate the perfect cake for the occasion. Christmas was always a special time for Sarah, and she enjoyed making all kinds of Christmas candy. She was a member of the Verdigris Assembly of God Church. Everyone that knew Sarah will miss her greatly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; James and Virginia Smith, her husband; Donald Secondine Sr, a son; Terry Wayne Secondine, a grandson; Cody Rankin, and 7 siblings.

Sarah is survived by 4 children; Teresa Secondine of Claremore, OK, Melody Rankin and husband, Ed of Claremore, OK, Don Secondine Jr and wife, Tanya of Wichita, KS, and Paul David Secondine of Bartlesville, OK, 16 grandchildren; 18 great-granchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren, along with a host of friends.
