<p><span style="font-size:24px;">Margaret H. Chastain of Hixson has her bags packed for one more trip. She has finished the work the Lord had for her on earth. She loved to travel and will make one last trip to be with her Lord and Savior. A funeral mass will be in celebration of her life.<br /> <br /> Margaret was survived by her husband, Melvin from Hixson; daughter, Cassandra Griffitts; granddaughter, Alyssa Medley; great grandson, Travis Welden; great granddaughter, Shaylea Paje Welden all from Alabama; sister, Ruth Creekmore from California; several nieces, nephews and cousins.<br /> <br /> She was preceded in death by her mother, Ada E. Hite; father, Fred H. Hite; brother, Gary D. Hite and sister, Elizabeth Johnson.<br /> <br /> Margaret graduated from Tyner High School, was retired from the Chattanooga Police Department. At the time of retirement she was the Manager/Supervisor of Records/Data Entry Division. She worked for the Hamilton County Department of Education as a substitute teacher in the Soddy-Daisy area. She was very active in the volunteer world. She worked for the Red Cross as a volunteer at North Park Hospital, her church and community. She was a member/officer at the Chattanooga Jaycees, Chattanooga Police Department Toast Masters and Extraordinary Minister of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Margaret presented the idea of the &ldquo;Wall of Honor&rdquo; to the Soddy-Daisy Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 942 was able to see it presented on November 12, 2011 at Veteran&rsquo;s Park in Soddy-Daisy. She served on the Planning Commission for Soddy-Daisy, Hamilton County Recreation and Park Advisory Board and the Hamilton County Safety and Health Advisory Board. She was a member of the Young Republican Club and the Women&rsquo;s Club. Margaret worked for many Republican and non-party races.<br /> Margaret loved her family, politics and sports of all kind. On any given Sunday she could be found watching a sport game and letting you know who she wanted to win. One of her goals in life was to visit all 50 states and she was able to do that with family. She loved the United States and what in stood for everyone&hellip;Freedom.<br /> <br /> Her favorite verse in the Bible was Proverbs 31:31 &ldquo;give her a reward of her labors and her works praise her at the city gates&rdquo;.<br /> <br /> Services will be on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Friday at the church before the service.<br /> <br /> Condolences and memories can be shared at www.williamsonandsons.com.<br /> Arrangements are by Williamson and Sons Funeral Home, 8852 Dayton Pike, Soddy Daisy, TN 37379.</span></p>
