Jerry Allen Davis, 76, of Madison, Mississippi, died Thursday, May 12, 2022, at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Family Visitation (1:00 p.m.) and funeral services (2:00 p.m.) will be held Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the First Presbyterian Church in Belzoni, Mississippi, with a burial at Greencrest Gardens Cemetery, also in Belzoni. Jerry was born September 23, 1945, in Yazoo County, to Joseph Lee and Ruby Gordon Davis. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy, and his second wife, Charlotte; his parents, and his brothers, Billy and Robert Davis. Jerry served in the Mississippi National Guard for six years. He started his career as a draftsman before working as a driller on an offshore oil rig for the Penrod Drilling Company. He continued his career in construction until his retirement 10 years ago. Survivors are: daughters, Paige (Oggie/Wade) Hawkins, Lee Ann Davis, and Alison (Chris) Grant; grandchildren, Alex (Tory) Hawkins, Jacob Hawkins, Calli Grant and Marley Grant; great grandson, Alexander Hawkins; brothers, Richard (Ruby Nell) Davis, Gordon (Susan) Davis, Sr.; sisters, Joann (Jerry) Blackburn, Barbara (Harold) Howard, Gloria (Tommy) Lloyd and Lisa Tharp; and a host of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
