Robert A. Johnson Jr.

On Thursday, May 12, 2022, ROBERT ALLEN JOHNSON, JR., (aka Tab) passed peacefully into God’s Heavenly kingdom. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert A. Johnson and mother Annie B. Johnson, brothers Ronnie, Ernest and Owen Johnson and two sisters, Dasann Johnson Hamlin and Lucy Annette Johnson. ROBERT ALLEN JOHNSON, graduated from Armstrong High School where he played on the varsity football team of the “Mighty Mighty Wildcats”. After graduation, he went on to work with E.I. DuPont for over 30 years until his retirement. To know Tab, you knew what his passions were. Did you say PORK? He was in a group called “Porkers” over 30 years. Every second Saturday in November, this group would head to North Carolina to buy barbecue, pork loins, ribs, etc. What a time he had. He loved to cook when you came over. Just pull up a chair, and you would get served, pork, fish, chicken, whatever he had. All you had to bring was an appetite! He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife Carolyn C. Johnson of 42 years and a faithful son, Robert Allen Johnson, III He is survived by one sister, Barbara C. Johnson, one mother-in-law, Claretta Cowans, affectionately known as “Mema”, two sisters-in-law, Jannifer Johnson and Joyce C. Erby (Alex), one brother-in-law, Bernard Hamlin, nephews: Marquis, Bernard, Darryl, Jamaal, Kelvin Johnson and Steven Bey, Darnell, Chris and Alex II (deceased) Erby, niece: Katina Johnson and host of great nieces and nephews. ROBERT ALLEN JOHNSON also leaves to cherish his beloved Aunt, Margie Rochelle, and a host of other beloved relatives from Durham, North Carolina.. Arrangements can be viewed below.
