Helen Stuckey

Helen Stuckey, age 88, of Grapeland passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at her residence. Helen was born July 27, 1933 in Livingston to parents, Richard Robert Smith and Helen Gladys Caraway Smith. She owned and operated Helen’s Beauty Shop in Latexo for many years. She loved everyone and opened her heart to helping anyone. Helen loved all her neighbors and friends and was always there to lend a helping hand where needed. She also worked at the Senior Citizen Center and loved meeting new friends. Helen enjoyed making porcelain dolls and going to doll shows. She loved traveling and going “junkin”, as she called it, at antique stores along the way. She attended Latexo Baptist Church, Good Shepherd Fellowship Church and Oakgrove Baptist Church. Helen is survived by children, Gerald Stuckey of Latexo, Linda Stuckey of Grapeland and life partner, Bill Dewitt of Crockett; grandchildren, Jaime Carrillo and husband, Jose of Nacogdoches, Holly Blanchard and husband, Dr. Scott Blanchard of Jennings, LA; great-grandchildren, Jameson and Jocelyn Carrillo, Aniston, Peyton and Owen Blanchard; sister, Ruby Perry of Corrigan; and numerous other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by husband, Rev. James M. Stuckey; son, James A. Stuckey, parents, Richard and Helen Smith; sisters, Ethel Parrish, Lydia Hudson, Marie Roll; brothers, R. J. Smith and C. W. Smith. Funeral services for Helen Stuckey will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2022 at Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel, in Crockett, with Rev. Leon Wallace and Rev. Ottis Byers officiating. Interment in the Jones Prairie Cemetery, Leggett, TX. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Online condolences may be left at www.callawayallee.com CALLAWAY-ALLEE FUNERAL HOME
