Michael Mulherin McCoy

Michael Mulherin McCoy, age 60, of Dawsonville, GA passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022. He was born in Columbia, SC to the late Thomas Henry McCoy, Sr. and Mary Louise Mulherin McCoy. Mike proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and loyal friend.<br><br>Anyone that knew him, knew he had such a big heart. He raised his only daughter by himself, which if asked was his biggest accomplishment. The bond that he shared with his daughter was indescribable. In 2009 the two made front page of the Dawson County Newspaper titled, “Father Inspires Miss Dawson” which still hangs proudly in his living room. He loved fiercely and deeply and we take comfort in knowing that Michael is now at peace surrounded by light. <br><br>He is preceded in death by his parents as well as his beloved dog, Cooper.<br><br>Mike is survived by his daughter &; her fiancé’, Brittany McCoy and Jeff Rives of Roswell, GA; grandson, Michael Kase Gilreath of Roswell, GA; grandson on the way due in September 2022, Jack Hundley Rives; brother, Tom McCoy, Jr. of Ballground, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kelly & Chuck Davis of Woodstock, GA, Dionne & Andrew Butler of Lawrenceville GA and Missy & Jose Frazer-Aradillas of Woodstock GA; brother and sister-in-law, Joe & Kim Frazer of Jacksonville, FL. Other extended family also survive.<br><br>In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the college fund for his grandson Kase Gilreath, 4640 Featherstone Pass, NE, Roswell, GA 30075.<br><br>A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 4th 2022 from 4pm-6pm at Iron Horse Golf Club 3430 Highway 9 N Milton, GA 30004.<br><br>Condolences may be left online at www.beardenfuneralhome.com<br>Bearden Funeral Home, Dawsonville, GA 30534 <br><br>
