William A. Wilson Obituary

A longtime resident of Medfield, passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on May 6, 2022. Bill was born February 10, 1938, in Rochester, NY to the late Charles and Elizabeth (Evans) Wilson. He was raised in Rochester, NY and graduated from West High School in 1955 and then Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in 1960 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He returned to the RIT campus often to participate in alumni association events.
Bill married Sally (Gould), Portland, ME in 1964. Bill and Sally settled in Hartford, CT and started a family. They then relocated to Medfield in 1974 where they have since resided. Bill had a 35-year career with The Foxboro Company, both in Connecticut and Massachusetts. Bill was a long-time and active member of The Church of the Advent, the Medfield Lion’s Club, and the White Mountain Ski Runners, a family ski club in New Hampshire. He was a life-long skier, making his last run in the winter of 2019. In the summer, he enjoyed family visits to Conesus Lake in upstate New York and socializing in casual golf groups.
Bill is survived by his spouse of 57 years, Sally; his daughter, Sara (Lionel) Salgado, of Salem, OR; and his son, Michael (Erika) Wilson, of Reno, NV. Bill is also survived by five grandchildren: Julia Salgado, of Salem, OR; John Salgado of Tempe, AZ; Joel Salgado of Salem, OR; Andrew Wilson of Reno, NV; and Cooper Wilson of Reno, NV. Bill also leaves behind two very special cousins, Carol (David) Kohan of Rochester, NY; and John (Janet) Ernisse of Spencer, NY; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and other special relatives.
Starting last October, Bill resided at New Pond Village, Walpole, MA in Aldridge House in memory care. The family would like to thank the staff at New Pond Village and Old Colony Hospice for their care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and Old Colony Hospice.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Friday, May 24, 2022 11:00 AM at Church of the Advent, 28 Pleasant St., Medfield, MA 02052.
