It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mom, Ivy Mercer Pynn on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at the Carbonear General Hospital. Age 83 years.

Predeceased by her parents: Walter & Mary Mercer, Coley’s Point; brothers: Lewis & David and Eric Pynn, the father of her children.

Leaving to mourn her daughter: Lillian Catherwood, Nova Scotia; son: Walter Pynn (Renee) Foxtrap; grandchildren: Lindsay, Gina, Nathan & Jahrod; great grandchildren: Callie, Tysan & Noah; brothers: Bob Mercer (Judy) and Walter Mercer (Doris); sisters: Mildred Thompson, Marguerite Boone & Mavis Berkshire, as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Ivy was involved in many activities over the years. She was a Lions Club member for 25 years, holding several positions. Her passion was the Lion Peace Poster Contest which she was chairperson for several years.

A special thank you to Tammy Webber, who was not only Mom’s main caregiver but also her friend. Thank you to all the staff at Carbonear General Hospital who took care of Mom.

Cremation has taken place.

Visitation will be held at Slade’s Funeral Home, L.T. Strick Drive, Bay Roberts on Monday: 10:30 A.M.-12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy donations may be made in her loving memory to a Charity of One’s Choice.

The funeral service will take place at Grace United Church & Cemetery, Coley’s Point on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 2 P.M.

Masks are required for visitation and the funeral service.
