Alexis Lorna Mae Fitzner Obituary

Alexis Lorna Mae Lee Fitzner, 26 years old of Winnipeg, Manitoba joined her other families in the Spirit World suddenly on April 28th, 2022, at 10:15 a.m. at the St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg.

Alexis was born to Robin Fitzner and Sean Lee on June 14th, 1995, at 3:50 a.m. at The Women’s Hospital in Winnipeg. Her family moved to Thompson when Alexis was 6 months old. Alexis was big sister to Rebecca Jade Fitzner Greier, Elia Lily Mary Kirkness, and stepdaughter to Duane Greier.

Alexis attended elementary school in Winnipeg, Snow Lake, The Pas, Eastwood School in Thompson; she graduated Grade 12 at R.D. Parker in Thompson with Honours with Distinction. In Grade 4 Alexis won the Manitoba Provincial Award for her artwork depicting Remembrance Day—her great-grandfather Frederick Fitzner was a WWII veteran. Throughout her school years, Alexis passed each grade with awards and honours; in high school she enjoyed drama classes.

Alexis’s first job was at KFC in Thompson from her age of 16 to 19, and continued be employed in various organizations. Most recently was working to continue her studies to become a dietary aid and was accepted into a course for August 2022. Alexis enjoyed her artwork, reading fiction novels, collecting Hello Kitty memorabilia; she was very organized, took pride and care in her possessions, she loved broccoli—always seemed to have some on hand, and loved sugar-coated gummies but always had her toothbrush nearby.

She followed politics, world views, psychology and often listened to podcasts on these topics. She loved music that was deep, emotional, meaningful…Lana Del Rey.

Alexis had a unique sense of style, she would dress up very classy one day, goth the next, and skateboard girl the next; she could rock any style and it reflected her feelings at that time.

Alexis is survived by her mother Robin Fitzner (Matt Diamond), father Sean Lee, her dad Duane Greier, sister Rebecca (Kolton Harmon) and baby niece on the way, and baby sis Elia; her gramma Lorna Fitzner, uncles Daniel “Dano” (Brenda), Trent (Dayna), Rene (Michelle); cousins Valerie, Chris, Darius, Darianne, Dennea, Emma, Ivy, Azuraena, Lorenzo, Atlas. She Is Gone By David Harkins

You can shed tears that she is gone,

or you can smile because she has lived.

You can close your eyes and pray that she’ll come back,

or you can open your eyes and see all she’s left.

Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her,

or you can be full of the love you shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,

or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember her only that she is gone,

or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back.

Or you can do what she’d want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.”

Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,

That saved a wretch like me.

I once was lost but now am found,

Was blind, but now I see.

T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear.

And Grace, my fears relieved.

How precious did that Grace appear

The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares

I have already come;

'Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far

And Grace will lead me home.

When we've been here ten thousand years

Bright shining as the sun.

We've no less days to sing God's praise

Than when we've first begun.

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,

That saved a wretch like me.

I once was lost but now am found,

Was blind, but now I see.
