Zular Goolsbee, 108, of Centerville, Texas passed away on May 2, 2022 in Centerville, Texas. She was born to Johnny & Mary Mae Jones on August 13, 1913 in Leona, Texas. She lived most of her life in Madisonville, Texas until the last seven years, where she resided at Centerville Nursing Home. Zular was a sweet person with a heart of gold. She became a second Mom to many people by opening her home to anyone who needed it. She liked animals, working in her flower beds, watching wrestling on TV and cooking fried chicken, which she was very good at. She was an excellent homemaker and known to never get mad. Zular had witnessed many changes in the world over 108 years. Her life was truly a legacy. Zular was preceded in death by her parents; son, Frank Cooper; sisters, Mary Bridget, Viola William; brothers, Harvey Jones, Jesse Jones; niece, Haddie Glaze; she is survived by her son, Kenneth (Erica) Goolsbee of Centerville, Texas; niece, Henrietta Colton of Leona, Texas; sister, Judy Colton of Leona, Texas; along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Homegoing services for Zular will take place 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. Reverend Jackson will officiate. A public visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until the service. Interment will follow at Culton Cemetery, Leona, Texas.
