Durkin Julian Manning

<p>Durkin Julian Manning passed away on May 10, 2022, peacefully surrounded by family and friends in his home in Veguita, New Mexico, at the age of 78 after a long battle with several aliments with the heart and lungs. Durkin came to the Rio Grande Valley in the early 60s and fell in love with the Southwest.&nbsp; He was born in Staten Island, New York to Julian Franklin Manning and Leonora Beverly Durkin.&nbsp; Most of his childhood was spent in Westport, Connecticut and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.&nbsp;&nbsp;He attended all Catholic schools from elementary school through collage, Norte Dame University, and finished at Georgetown Law school in Washington DC with a law degree.&nbsp;Durkin was an active member of the New Mexico Bar Association since 1978 and held many positions on the Navajo Reservation as an educator and as an attorney to several Native American tribes throughout his career. He is survived by is love of 37 years,&nbsp;Belinda Jo Hadley of Veguita, NM;&nbsp;Sister,&nbsp;Pamula B Hurley of Fort Lauderdale, Florida;&nbsp;Daughter, Jamie Roberge and husband Jeff Roberge of Houston, Texas;&nbsp;Son, Monty Hadley Singer of Los Lunas, NM;&nbsp;Daughter-in-law,&nbsp;Peggy Lynn Singer of Los Lunas, NM; Daughter,&nbsp;Lisa Marie Hadley Edwards of Tucson, AZ; Granddaughter, Emya Marie Hadley Edwards of Phoenix, AZ; Grandson,&nbsp;Keon Monte Hadley of Tucson, AZ; Grandson,&nbsp;Iason Lamar Johnson of Tucson, AZ; Grandson, Zach Munjas of Houston, TX; Granddaughter,&nbsp;Claire Elizabeth Roberge of Houston, TX; Niece, Leonora Hurley Bravo and family of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Niece,&nbsp;Margaret Lancaster and family of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Along with many friends in the community whom he held&nbsp;dear to his heart.&nbsp; The family extends their appreciation to the Belen Hospice team. Services for Durkin took place at the San Jose Catholic Church on May 12, 2022. Arrangements are being handled by the caring professionals at the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel, 418 W.
