Mr. Stanley Ray Blackmon, 59, of Benson, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at his home. Stanley was born December 2, 1962, in Harnett County, the son of the late Fredrick Coolidge Blackmon and Lena Mae Jackson Barefoot. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Temple. Stanley attended Benson Schools and South Johnston High School. He worked most of his life in commercial construction. Stanley was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by all. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Friday, May 13, 2022, at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Carraway officiating. Burial will follow at Erwin Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife, Laura Beth Woodall Blackmon; son, Stanley Ray Blackmon, Jr. of Benson; daughter, Angela Beth Scott, and husband, Robbie of Four Oaks; sisters, Diane Norris, and husband, Johnny B. of Coats, Joyce Holland of Coats, Brenda Bunnell of Dunn, Debbie Gregory, and husband, David of Coats, Sandra Dixon of Coats; brothers. Billy Blackmon of Wade, Timmy Blackmon of Vander; grandchildren, Colton Blackmon, Blayden Stanley, Sarah Blackmon, Kayley Berne, Miranda Berne, Robert “R.J” Berne and Axi Scott. The family will receive friends 1 - 2 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2022, at the funeral home prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Blackmon family.
