John Wesley Catoe, Jr., 70, of Cassatt, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. Born in Camden on February 7, 1952, he was the son of the late John Wesley Catoe, Sr. and the late Vernell Douglas Cain. John was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and search for arrowheads and other relics. He spent his working life as a painter. John loved his family, especially his two sons and his nieces and nephew.<br><br>Mr. Catoe is survived by his companion, Wendy Gaskins; his son, John M. Catoe (Rachel); grandchildren, Emma Catoe, Elan Catoe, Evan Catoe, and Emry Catoe; siblings, James “Jimmy” Catoe (Sandra) and Patricia Parnell (Bobby); nieces, LeeAnn Estes (Luke), Allison Sullivan (Adam), Angela Branham (Mike), and Pam Willis (Russell); a nephew, Preston Catoe (Kathy); as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.<br><br>In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his son, John Wesley Gaskins; and his stepfather, Mack T. Cain.<br><br>The family will hold a private service at a later date.
