<p>Shelby Jean Bertram, age 85, of Stanford, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. Born Wednesday, February 3, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Stanley Pennington I and Ida Stewart Pennington. Shelby Jean was the widow of the late Walter Ray Bertram, whom she married Saturday, May 21, 1955, and preceded her in death Monday, August 24, 2015. Shelby Jean was a member of Willow Grove Baptist Church, where she was a member of the TEL Sunday School class. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shelby Jean was a wonderful cook, being famous for her chicken and dumplings and stuffing. She enjoyed watching birds and collecting stuffed bears and ceramic elephants.</p> <p>Shelby Jean leaves behind one son, Tim Bertram (Sherry) of Paducah, Kentucky; two daughters Pamela Jean Bertram and Dixie Lay (Jeff) both of Stanford; six grandchildren, Matthew Schulte, Jennifer Carmicle, Leah Greasley (Mark), Mark Bertram, Tori Bertram, and Tanner Bertram; one step granddaughter, Lexi Lay; four great grandchildren, Ada Clark, Presley Applegate, Brooklyn Crafa, and Owen Greasley; two brothers, Verdis Pennington of Lexington, Kentucky and Stanley Pennington II of Moreland, Kentucky; and one sister, Jessie Dean of Alabama.</p> <p>In addition to her husband and parents, Shelby Jean was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.</p> <p>A Public Graveside Service will be held 2:00PM Friday, May 13, 2022, at Danville Memorial Gardens.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions suggested to Laurel Lake Baptist Camp 578 Singing Hills Rd.
