Sarah Hollingsworth Kitchens

Sarah Hollingsworth Kitchens went to her eternal home on Tuesday, May 10, 2022.  Born in Stilson, Georgia on November 13, 1944, to the late Jasper Lee Hollingsworth and Sara Braswell Hollingsworth, Sarah graduated from Southeast Bulloch High School. She loved the Lord and was a member and enjoyed attending Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church but also enjoyed her cup of coffee while listening and watching other ministries on television and loved watching her Georgia Bulldogs play on TV. 

Sarah was a loving Mother and Grandmother who considered herself “a homemaker.” Prior to her illness, she was one of the best cooks and enjoyed sharing the fruits of her labors as much as her family enjoyed eating them.

Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Kitchens, parents; her brothers, Stothard Hollingsworth and Daniel Hollingsworth; and her grandson, Gauge Strickland.

She is survived by her children, Patricia Strickland Langley (Chris), William Jasper Strickland (Kimberly Mock), and Hugh Sanford Strickland II (Necole); her grandchildren, Ashley Brooke Leither, Jesse Jones and Victoria Rae Mulroney; great grandchildren, Ava, Holley, Elizabeth and Sean; her siblings, Henrietta Martin, Chris Bradley, George Hollingsworth, Grace Stallings, Agnes Hendrix and Anna Stills; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11:30AM-12:30PM on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at Deal Funeral Directors. The Graveside Service will follow at 1:00 PM at Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Jake Futch officiating.
