Anne Teresa Kish Gerber Obituary

Anne Teresa (Ortwein) Kish Gerber, 73, of Bethlehem, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of the late Gerald J. Gerber, Jr. who passed away on April 13, 2022. Born in Shamokin, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Kathryn (Kartovich) Ortwein.

Annie was a graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School class of 1967. She was a faithful member of Assumption BVM Church. Annie was devoted to impacting the youth at St. Michael the Archangel School throughout her various positions as a teacher and coach. In addition, she worked at two medical offices as a secretary, greeting patients with her charm.  Mostly, her favorite job was being a caregiver to friends and family in need.

Annie always put others before herself in everything she did. She was a sweet angel on earth with a heart of gold who will be remembered as a hero to many. Commonly known as "Annie James” or the "Silver Bullet”, Annie was the life of the party and enjoyed lighting up the room with her unique fashion sense. Above all, Annie was a loving Moma and Mammy and she left a lasting impact that will forever shine on through her daughters and granddaughter.

Survivors: She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Glennie Racz and her husband, Ricky J. of Hellertown, and Jennifer Kish-Russ of Hellertown; granddaughter Sarah McKelvey Russ of Hellertown; granddog: Bentley; brothers Bernie Ortwein and his wife Karen of Estero, FL, Dennis Ortwein and his wife Karen of Easton and Neil Ortwein and his wife Carol of Bethlehem as well as an abundance of extended family and lifelong friends.

Services: A Celebration of Life Service to honor Annie’s legacy will be held at 10 A.M. on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street Bethlehem, PA 18018 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 9 A.M. until time of the service. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Michael the Archangel School, 4121 Old Bethlehem Pike, Bethlehem, PA 18015.
