Calvin Huffman

Calvin Huffman Sr left this life to spend eternity with Jesus Christ on 06 May 2022 from his home in Martinsburg, West Virginia.<br><br> He was the son of Ross Huffman Sr and Mary Huffman of Eagle Rock, Virginia. He was 85 years old at his time of passing.<br><br> He was survived by his wife, of 39 years of marriage, Carol Huffman. His surviving children are Marilyn <br>Sinohui of Lexington Park, Maryland, Kim Parsons of Roanoke, Virginia, and surviving son Shawn Miller of Martinsburg, West Virginia. He leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.<br><br> He was preceded in death by his son Calvin Huffman, Jr and daughter Lisa Linaburg both from Martinsburg, West Virginia. <br><br> He was one of 12 siblings. Lala Shifflett is his sole surviving sibling who resides in Wyndotte, Michigan. <br><br> Calvin graduated from Eagle Rock High School and attended University of California. He lived a long full life traveling the globe with the United States Marine Corp for over 20 years, serving 3 tours in Viet Nam. He was wounded twice during his time there. He retired as a Gunnery Sargeant.<br><br> He was a friend to all he met and always helped those in need and provided sage advice when applicable. He was a self-motivated man and able to master any task he sought to perform. He loved all his children and his country. He was loved by all who knew him; family, friends, co-workers etc. for his kindness and gentle friendly demeanor. He leaves behind his two precious dogs Leo and Harry. They will miss him dearly!<br><br> Thanks to Pam Miller (RN) for her continued care for Calvin during his illness from Home Based Primary Care VAMC service provided during his illness and to neighbors Steve Hauck and Matt Rannells for their, on the spot, assistance/help needed during emergent times of crisis. Also thanks to Hospice of the Panhandle for their home assistance. <br><br> In lieu of flowers, please donate in memory of Calvin Huffman to ASPCA and/or Saint Judes Childrens Hospital. <br><br> Services and interment will be private.
