Victor Coker Obituary

Victor Coker, son of the late Diane Coker, was born in Pittsburgh, PA on July 29, 1971. He peacefully entered into eternal life on May 6, 2022 surrounded by his extended family at Community Living on Todd Lane, in Monaca, PA.

Despite being afflicted with cerebral palsy, which posed intellectual and physical disabilities, Victor attended Pioneer School and graduated from Langley High School June 17, 1992. He also attended classes at Rochester Vocation Education Center, until he physically could not continue.

Victor was an energetic, joyful young man. He loved cars, watching sports, listening to music (especially his crush—Taylor Swift), and collecting hats. Anyone who came in contact with Victor was blessed by his smile and laughter. He never complained, except when he had to go in the hospital—he would constantly tell the nurses, “I want to go home!” A faithful follower of Jesus Christ, he gave his life to Christ, along with his mother, and was baptized at Petra Ministries in 1996.

Victor leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted aunt, Nellie Mells; aunts Gloria Marie Parlor and Deborah Blackwell; and uncle Robert Coker; his favorite cousin, Mark Mells, whom he lovingly called “Scoob” and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend their thanks and deepest appreciation to the staff at Todd Lane; Jeanine Doffin (who was Victor’s caretaker for 25 years), Cheryl Johnson, Tamika Martin, Raja Tucker, Mike Rizno, Dorothy Martin and others who touched Victor’s life. Thanks and appreciation are also extended to the staff at JFCS-Pittsburgh, especially Devin Shuman and Patty McKeown who were dedicated to ensuring that Victor enjoyed a full and comfortable life.

Friends will be received on Monday from 10-12 p.m. in the Edward P. Kanai Funeral Home, 500 Greenfield Ave. 15207. A Service will be held on Monday at 12 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
