Jeanine Faye Conklin Obituary

Jeanine Faye Conklin, 70, of Waubun, MN passed away on May 9, 2022, peacefully at home. Jeanine was born on July 29, 1951 to David and Delia (LaGue) Soyring. She was one of 15 children and was raised in the Elbow Lake Village.

As a young woman, Jeanine married Marvin Conklin on March 3, 1970.  She was a stay at home mom to their three sons.  Jeanine kept the boys busy with activities and projects. She planned some of the best birthday parties and Cub Scout den meetings.  Jeanine was always so thrifty and creative.

She later returned to her home town to take care of her mom and be close to her family.  This is when she met the love of her life, Mark Hendrickson. They made their home in Waubun, MN.  Jeanine worked as a nurse’s aide for many years in the Mahnomen Nursing Home and in Waubun at Hill View Assisted Living.  She then worked as a paraprofessional at the Waubun School until her retirement in 2014.

Jeanine was excited to retire to spend more time with all her loving grandchildren.  She was so incredibly proud of each of them.  She loved attending all their events from sports to music concerts.  She traveled many miles watching her grandchildren and was their biggest fan. She also loved an old fashioned Sunday drive, taking in all the beautiful scenery and looking for eagles.

On Sept 19, 2020, Jeanine and Mark were united in marriage in their backyard with their family by their side.  Family was important to Jeanine, and everyone that entered her home was family.  She always made sure everyone felt welcomed.  Jeanine was the glue that held the family together.  She hosted many wonderful family get-togethers and holidays.  She enjoyed cooking for everyone, but especially loved having her kids and grandkids all together in her home.  Even until her last days, she just wanted to hear all our voices.  She will be missed by everyone that knew her.

Jeanine is survived by her loving husband Mark Hendrickson; children: Mike and Jen, Brian and Shelley, Dave and Angie, Travis and Karyn Hendrickson; grandchildren:  Zachary, Alesha, Brian Jr., Kaden, Jackson, Wyatt, and Savannah Conklin, Wyatt Mostue Conklin,  Monty, Lily and Daisy Hendrickson, Sophia and Kaia Williams, Heidi Oien and family, Linsay Bellanger; great niece and nephew Elsieanna and Walter Bellecourt.  She is also survived by siblings:  Bernard (Lois) Soyring, Paul (Jen) Soyring, Elaine (Jess) Finch, Mary “Biz” Burrow, Pamela (Herman) Holt, and Norma Hedland; In-laws: Tony Geordt, James “Boy” Anderson, Janell Soyring, Carla Soyring, and Terry Sprunk; Mark's brothers Ron Hendrickson and Roger Hendrickson; and many nieces and nephews.
