Mary Janet Cameron

Mary “Janet” Cameron, 82 of Keokuk, IA died Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at River Hills Village in Keokuk. She was born May 3, 1940 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of John C. and Vera Repplinger Cameron. Janet graduated from Kahoka High School with the class of 1959. She attended Patricia Stevens College. Janet was a member of Cameron Farm Inc., All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk and the Keokuk Hospital Auxiliary. Janet loved farm life and especially loved spending time on the family farm riding her horse, Kokomo. She was a talented saxophone player in her younger years and played in the Kahoka High School Band and enjoyed sewing and embroidery work throughout her life. Janet liked to roller skate and she also enjoyed to ride her moped in parades. She loved animals and had many pets through the years. She is survived by two sisters, Jeanne Albertin (Marc) of Atlanta, IL and Clare Schmidt (Dick) of Lincoln, IL, one brother, Lawrence Cameron (Debra) of Keokuk and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, John C. Cameron, Jr. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk with Reverend David Brownfield, Ph.D. officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. – 10:15 a.m., Saturday, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with the family meeting with friends at that time.
