Collin Anthony McLaren Obituary

Collin Anthony was a beautiful, spiritual, old soul. He loved big and had amazing perspectives on life. When he was a little boy, he wanted to play all the sports. He started with baseball at 5 years old and football at 7 years old. He found his forever baseball family with the Tigers/Griz and played with the same boys until high school. He played tackle football with the TCYFL Tornados from second grade until 9th grade. Collin began wrestling with the Yelm Twisters in 7th grade and planned to carry on with all three sports through high school. Collin achieved good grades and loved football season. At the beginning of the pandemic life slowly changed. When sports stopped, and school became optional the anxiety crept in. Collin always loved skateboarding, but really began to take it seriously with the absence of sports. Collin began hanging out with different friends and began dabbling in drugs. Collin like other teens thought that he had everything handled. He quickly found that his experimenting turned to addiction. Collin had every intention to get sober and stay that way. Sadly, Collin lost his battle with addiction to one lethal dose of fentanyl. He began his next adventure on 5-1-2022, the day his friends and family were forever shattered. Collin’s Nammy, Pa, Grandma Shirley Grandpa Charley, and Aunt Julie went ahead, and were waiting at the gate. Collin traveled on before his mother Karisa Carpenter (Josh James), his father David McLaren (Michelle Bartosiak), his little brother Brayden, and his baby sister Jorgie. The love of his life Silvia Barnes, his Grandma Kari and Grandpa Jim Hunt and Papa Tim and Grandma Tina Nalan. His Aunt Jana Melcoche (Thomas Meloche) and his baby cousins who he adored, Julianne, Timmy, and Hazel. His Grandpa Brad and Grandma Laurie McWilliams and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Collin had so many close amazing friends throughout the different stages of his life. His best friend from childhood was Jeremy Reimers, they will always be bonded. Another childhood friend that became his brother was Hunter Venable. Presley Morgan was Collin’s strength his rock through some very dark times, and Colton Munkirs shared personal struggles with Collin. Each friend had their special place in his life and heart. If you knew Collin, you knew that no matter how many years drifted between you when you saw him it was just the same as it always had been. Collin had a magical smile a kindness, and a wisdom that will never be forgotten. Long Live Collin.
