Hinda Meyers Obituary
Hinda Meyers, age 92, passed away Monday, May 9, 2022 at the Iowa Jewish Senior Life Center. A graveside service will be held 2 pm, Friday, May 13th at Jewish Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.
Hinda was born March 22, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois. Hinda spent her childhood years in Centerville, Iowa graduating from Centerville High School. Following graduation from high school she moved to Chicago where she met her husband, Howard Meyers.
They made their home in Centerville, Iowa, raising their three daughters. Hinda had a love of family, and involved herself in her local community. Her interests included playing bridge, being active in many clubs, and baking her award-winning pies.
Hinda moved to Des Moines in 1990. She enjoyed being near family, attending her grandchildren’s events. She organized bridge at the Urbandale Senior Center, was a member of PEO, and was a member of Tifereth Israel Synagogue.
Hinda is survived by her daughters, Linda Bremen (Gary), Marti Leonard (Frank), son-in-law Ron Osby; grandchildren: Brad Bremen (Erin), Molly Bremen (David Roberts), Ben Bremen (Emma), Jeff Osby (Krysten), Dan Leonard (Carolyn), Lauren Young (Steven), Matt Leonard (Emma); great grandchildren: Grant and Cabe Osby, Isabelle and Brody Bremen, Henry, Simon and Max Roberts, Harvey Bremen, Elle and Claire Young, and Jackson Leonard.
Hinda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard Meyers; daughter, Susie Osby; great grandchild, Kara Osby; and brother, Sidney Weber.
