Mari Lynn Stassi Obituary

ORFORDVILLE, Wis.- Mari Lynn Stassi, age 60, passed away from Multiple Myeloma on Friday, May 6, 2022, at UW Hospital with her loving wife, Sarah Woodbury, brother, Jeff Stassi, and sister-in-law, Shellie (Clay) Stassi by her side.


Mari was born in Madison, Wis., on Jan. 25, 1962. She graduated from McFarland High School in 1980, where she enjoyed art. Mari was very talented at drawing and continued to draw at different

periods in her life.


In 1985, Mari opened the doors to her own business, MariAnne's Elder House Inc., in McFarland. Mari

was compassionate and kind. She was passionate about caring for others and spent her whole life caring for people. In her free time, she enjoyed her pets and side kick, Fletcher, and her quiet days with her wife, Sarah. Mari loved to sing and loved faith-based music.


Mari is survived by her devoted wife, Sarah J. Woodbury of Orfordville, Wis.; cherished brother, Jeff Stassi and his wife, Shellie (Clay) Stassi of Deforest, Wis.; her loving stepson, Joshua R. Woodbury of Mount Pleasant, Wis.; and her adored God sons, Dusty and Chase Boyd of McFarland, Wis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam H. Stassi and Audrey J. Stassi of Madison, Wis.; uncle,

Anthony (Thelma “Trudy”) Stassi; aunt, Collen Stassi (Vivinni); and grandparents, Frank and Alma

Stassi of Madison.


A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 4 p.m. on Monday, May 16, 2022. Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Monday.  Private burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens.

Mari battled Multiple Myeloma for many years and throughout her battle she was surrounded by so many loving friends and family. A very special thank you to Elizabeth Doran and Colleen Seichter.
