Sandra J Wesley Orange, New Jersey Obituary

Sandra J Wesley

Sandra “Sandy” J. Wesley was born on February 5, 1945 in Americus, GA to the late Clarence W. and Janie L. McGrady. As a child Sandra moved to Newark NJ, where she was raised by her father Clarence and grand mother Julia McGrady. A Central High School graduate she went on to attend Newark Business College. She worked as a bookkeeper throughout her career, and was able to enjoy an early retirement in 1995. In the fall of 1964 Sandy was introduced to Donald Wesley through a mutual friend of both families, Ida H. Burnett. That introduction led to a marriage that lasted 57 beautiful years, produced two loving sons, Terence D. and Travis J., and created a lifetime of memories filled with love. Sandra was an avid reader, liked to cook, loved to bake, enjoyed gardening, traveling, and was a great homemaker. Sandra was also very giving and donated to a variety of charitable organizations including the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, ASPCA, Easter Seals, The Nature Conservancy, Native American Right’s Fund, The VFW and many more. Above all Sandra was extremely thoughtful. You could be sure to receive a card on your birthday, holidays or any other special occasion. She was deeply caring and empathic and would always do what she could to help other people. To be in her presence was to be in the presence of love and caring. Sandra leaves behind to cherish her memories her beloved husband Donald; her two devoted sons, Terence and Travis; step sister Juanita Taylor; sister-in-law Muriel; brother-in-law Kenneth (Eunice); sister-in-law Freda; loving nieces; loving nephews and a host of other relatives and friends including Pat Braxton and Mary Fowlkes with whom she shared over 60 years of friendship.
