Violet Wagner

Violet Wagner, 89, of Marshalltown and formerly of the Bangor area, passed away on the evening of May 8, 2022 at UnityPoint Health Marshalltown surrounded by her family and under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022 beginning at 12:00 P.M. at the Albion Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 9:30 A.M to 11:30 A.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Memorials in Violet’s name may be directed to the family for a later designation. For additional information or to send a condolence to the family please call 641-844-1234. Violet Lucille Duncan was born on December 22, 1932 to parents Robert and Gladys (Kuhn) in Collins, Iowa. She attended school within the Hardin County area and later graduated from New Providence High School in the class of 1950. Following High School, Violet was united in marriage to Oliver Coleman on February 13, 1951. They lived in the Bangor area and began a family of their own. Her career was raising her family of four. Oliver and Violet spent 27 years together until his passing in 1978. She was fortunate to be united in marriage a second time to Allen Wagner on January 16, 1981. Together they celebrated many years together and made cherished memories until his passing after 37 years of marriage. In her free time, Violet enjoyed reading, doing various puzzles, participating in various family activities, tending to vegetable and flower gardens, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a very caring person to anyone who knew her and had a sacrificial love for her family and friends. Those left to remember and cherish her memory are her children, Sandra (David) Clough, Mike Coleman, Debra (Don) Hans, Mary (Jim) Meyer, Bill (Dana) Wagner, Bonnie (Walt) Liss; her 13 grandchildren; her 14 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Margie McStockard, Art (Sandi) Duncan, and Marlys Smith; alongside numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Oliver Coleman and Allen Wagner; her parents Robert and Gladys; and her siblings, Claretta, Oscar, Dorothy, Raymond, and Faye.
