<p>Herman &ldquo;Mark&rdquo; Martin Altman, Jr, 58, of Orangeburg passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022.</p> <p>The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 1012 Whitman Street, Orangeburg.</p> <p>A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 727 Waterspring Rd, Orangeburg.&nbsp; Pastor Scott Wagoner will be officiating.</p> <p>Mark was born on March 14, 1964, in Orangeburg.&nbsp; He was the son of the late Herman Altman, Sr. and the late Grace Gunnels Altman.&nbsp; He received his Associate Degree from Orangeburg Calhoun Technical College in Computer Aided Drafting.&nbsp; Mark had the &ldquo;gift of gab.&rdquo;&nbsp; He enjoyed having visitors and could spend hours just sitting and talking with friends and family.&nbsp; He loved his family and especially his two granddaughters.&nbsp; Mark was proud to become an organ donor.&nbsp; His selfless gift will enable someone to have sight.</p> <p>Survivors include his wife of thirty-nine years, Sharon W. Altman; daughter, Stacey A. Rucker (Mitch); two granddaughters, Harley and Olivia; sisters, Terry Edgemon (Charles), Tammy Fisher (Jim), Toni Phillips (Evan) and a number of nieces and nephews.</p> <p>Friends may call the residence.</p> <p>Memorials may be made to the Christopher &amp; Dana Reeve Foundation for Spinal Cord Research at 636 Morris Turnpike Suite 3A Short Hills, N.J. 07078.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Herman “Mark” Martin Altman, Jr, 58, of Orangeburg passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 1012 Whitman Street, Orangeburg.
