Bethany Jill Mengel, 52, passed away Friday, May 6, 2022, in Des Moines. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Dunns Funeral Home
Bethany was born October 20, 1969, in Kirksville, MO, to Steven and Rita (Brown) Johnston.
Bethany loved to read books and enjoyed her flowers and houseplants. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Bethany is survived by her husband, Jim Mengel, Daughter, Safiyah Grace; sons, Jackson Walsh, Mason Mengel, Brady Mengel; 4 grandchildren; sisters, Kimberly (Dan) Barrington, Gretchen (Jody) Wilson. She was preceded in death by her father, Steven Johnston.
